Day 233 - Where is Our Peace?

Well, it’s going to be a late post. I worked tonight and I didn’t get home until after 11. So here I am back in my rocking chair listening once again to Love Came Down. I was thinking about my dream again today. No, I didn’t dream last night. But I still get peaceful thoughts just remembering the dream from a couple of days ago. We are so blessed to serve a God that sometimes gives us surprises. I am surprised by how peaceful my life can be right in the midst of turmoil and sometimes chaos. In Him there truly is peace. Sometimes we get so caught up in our circumstances that we fail to press into Him. That is when we find ourselves without peace.

Many times we have to take the first step into peace. It’s like anything else in the Kingdom of God. It takes the key of faith to unlock it. Just think about Jesus’ first miracle when he turned water into wine at the wedding feast. First he had the servants pour the water into the empty wine jugs. Then he turned the water into wine as they took it to the head of the feast. If the servants had said that they weren’t going to pour the water into the jugs until it was wine we would probably still be waiting.
Most of us say that we have faith, but do we act on it. Would we take our friend up on the roof and cut a hole in the roof to lower him down to Jesus before he had been healed. Are we willing to trust Him when things look so bleak? Even in our country, fear is rampaging through the population. Yes our country needs to come to repentance and yes we need to turn as a nation to God. But what if we don’t? Should we as believers be afraid? Should we be living out of fear? No, we shouldn’t. Doesn’t it say that in the last days the dark will get darker and the light will get lighter. We should be bringing light into the darkness, not cowering in ti with everybody else. How is the world going to know about the true Jesus unless they see a difference in us. We should be walking in peace in the midst of chaos. We should be working to bring the Kingdom of Heaven down into the chaos to bring order.

In Genesis, the world was with out form and void (in chaos) until Holy Spirit brooded upon the face of it and Father God spoke the word. Papa, Jesus and Holy Spirit have always been about bringing order out of chaos. If we are to be like them, then that is what we should be doing too. We can’t do that if we are living in fear like the rest of the world. It doesn’t matter if you are democrat or republican, politics is not the answer. We should know by now that the only thing that will really change things is releasing His Kingdom. We get so caught up in what is wrong when sinners are just sinning. What do we want them to do? Why should we expect anything else, they are sinners. When the power and presence of the Kingdom of God is released upon the world. People will be forced into a decision. Then we will see sinners change, as they become believers.

I believe one of the first steps in releasing the Kingdom of God is for us to learn to walk in peace. We do this by learning to carry His presence into whatever situation we walk into. It doesn’t matter if it’s a hurricane or an earthquake. It doesn’t matter if it is the death of a loved one, or a sick child. We have to learn to carry His presence and that comes by knowing Him and His character. Then we can walk in faith, knowing that He is good no matter what my circumstances. The peace that passes understanding is ours. But we must first understand who He is, and how much He loves us. Julia and I were in the process of learning this. I think that these past few months I have learned it at a deeper level. It is a great part of what sustains me, and it can sustain you too, no matter what situation you are in. Step into His peace. The key is that to get it you first must take the step in faith.
